We are looking for a patient, caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a wonderful school. This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in a nurturing learning environment. Beginning ASAP.
Duties as SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech and language, SEMH)
* Support pupils’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development
* Work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials and strategies
* Help manage behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies
* Maintain records of progress and contribute to reviews and support plans (e.g. EHCPs)
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Has experience working with children with special educational needs
* Is calm, compassionate, and able to use their initiative
* Has good communication and interpersonal skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant
* Is flexible, reliable and committed to inclusion and equality
* (Desirable) Holds a relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or training in areas like autism awareness or Team Teach
