Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance & Operations team. This plant-based role will leverage your mechanical expertise to enhance plant compliance, reliability, and integrity. You'll play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence within a 24/7 production facility, contributing to new installations, maintenance strategies, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure plant compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 standards.
* Manage day-to-day and long-term mechanical engineering and maintenance needs.
* Design and commission mechanical modifications and installations.
* Optimize maintenance strategies to enhance reliability and plant uptime.
* Mentor and train technicians and apprentices.
* Respond to plant issues and emergency breakdowns to minimize disruption.
* Supervise contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
* Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules, and related documentation.
Skills & Experience:
Required Experience:
* 5–10 years post-graduate or post-apprenticeship experience in plant/facilities environments.
* Familiarity with chemical or effluent treatment facilities.
* Proficiency in PSSR compliance and project management.
* Experience of working upon rotating equipment
* To have knowledge of plant logistics and to have supported on site contractors
Key Skills:
* Expertise in boilers, chillers, gas distribution, refrigeration and effluent treatment.
* Strong mechanical design and problem-solving abilities.
* Proactive and self-driven with excellent team collaboration skills.
* Strong analytical capabilities and practical mindset.
Qualifications:
* Time served apprenticeship / HNC / Degree in Mechanical Engineering
