Here at NHS Grampian, we are looking for an accredited and experienced clinical vascular scientist / sonographer to lead our vascular team. We are a small but friendly unit which presently consists of 2 substantive vascular sonographers, supported by a Vascular Nurse Consultant, Laboratory Assistant, and administrative staff.
We carry out a wide range of vascular investigations including carotid, aorta, upper and lower limb arterial and venous assessments, graft surveillance, imaging of endovascular aneurysms repair, and DVT assessments. We also support a well-established outpatient clinic which runs from the Vascular Unit and we have close links to the AAA screening programme.
The successful post holder will have operational responsibility for providing clinical, managerial, and professional leadership in the running of the vascular lab ultrasound service and will influence, develop, and support future service delivery both as an independent leader and in collaboration with the Vascular Consultant and Service Management Teams. The post holder will also be expected to perform a full range of vascular ultrasound examinations independently and be accredited with the Society of Vascular Technology and/or have a Master’s Degree in Medical Ultrasound.
