On the look out for a brand new part-time job where YOU can make a difference every day? We're looking for people like you to join our amazing community support team in North Ayrshire on a permanent, part-time (16-30 hours per week) basis.
This is a busy and varied role, so if you're looking for a job where no two days are the same, this could be just the opportunity for you!
The Role
As a Support Practitioner, you'll support individuals with various support needs living in the Irvine, Kilwinning, Ardrossan and Saltcoats areas. You'll help with all aspects of daily living, including meal planning, cooking, appointments, household tasks, finances, medication and personal care. You'll also find yourself supporting the individuals with their hobbies and interests. This can include exploring new places, going for walks, listening to music, activities in the local community and arts and crafts to name a few!
About You
You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and we'll give you all the training you'll need if you're successful. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
All we’ll need you to bring is: -
Good communication skills
A caring attitude and approach
A positive approach to learning
Confidence in the use of computers
It would be great if you also have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle as there will be travel across the North Ayrshire area involved, but this isn't a deal breaker for the right candidates. We give a mileage rate at 45p per mile and you are also paid an hourly rate for travel time up to 2 hours between shifts.
Shift Patterns
We understand that our colleagues like to have a good work/life balance, so we try to be as flexible as possible with our shift patterns. Our team currently deliver support between the hours from 9am-9pm, 7 days a week. Weekends and public holidays are also included on a rotational basis.
There may be times where an evening shift ends a little later depending on activities the people we support have planned, but you would always have advanced notice.
Have any questions? To find out more, please contact Caroline MacDonald on 07810244770.
If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
