We have a unique opening to come and work with our expert cardiac cath lab team on the Jim Shahi Unit, part of the University accredited Cardiology Department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Working with our friendly team on the Jim Shahi Unit, we can offer you experience in a range of cardiology diagnostic and interventional procedures as well as developing specialised skills such as scrubbing for procedures and delivering nurse-led assessment and intervention.
We have a 16-bed day ward and two cardiac catheter labs - procedures undertaken include coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty), implantable defibrillators, pacemakers and E.P. studies.
Full training and support will be given to the successful applicant.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for undertaking and recording a comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced-based nursing care to a diverse group of patients.
Is expected to deliver care without direct supervision. Is accountable for the care delivered and any omissions of care.
Is expected to teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the non-registered nursing workforce.
Is accountable for care or any omissions of care that he/she delegates to others.
Is expected to act as a role model, delivering care with empathy and compassion as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Is expected to go on the on-call rota as part of the 24/7 PPCI service once fully trained in the scrub nurse role.
