Our client, a leading local authority, is currently seeking a Senior Planning Officer to join their team on a contractual basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing and evaluating planning applications in accordance with regulatory frameworks
Engaging in development management activities to ensure effective and sustainable planning solutions
Providing expert advice and support on town planning issues to stakeholders and internal departments
Preparing and presenting reports for planning committees and other related meetings
Conducting thorough site visits and assessments as part of the planning application process
Liaising with developers, consultants, and the public to facilitate successful planning outcomes
Ensuring compliance with planning legislation, policies, and procedures
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of planning laws and regulations
Job Requirements:
Extensive experience in development management and town planning
Strong understanding of planning legislation, policies, and procedures
Proficiency in managing and evaluating complex planning applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or related field
