About the job Salary: £37,938 - £40,476 a year pro rata plus £963 Essential Car User allowance (subject to critiera) pro rata Hours per week: 18.5 Contract type: Permanent We're looking for a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Street Lighting Engineer. In this role, you'll bring your in-depth experience in public lighting design and maintenance to ensure that we continue to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality lighting solutions. You'll be involved in organising inspection and maintenance programmes, ensuring that electrical testing of installations is carried out on-site, and providing technical, supervisory, and practical support to the team. The role also requires effective communication with the public, elected members, and other stakeholders, so we need someone who can manage this with professionalism and ease. Your technical expertise will be essential in maintaining and enhancing public lighting systems, and you'll stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, including IEE Regulations and BS5489. We want someone who is not only technically proficient but also passionate about integrating equality policies into service delivery, ensuring our work meets all regulatory and corporate guidelines. About you You are someone with experience in public lighting design and maintenance, having worked on both technical and practical aspects of this field. You hold a degree/HND/HNC in electrical engineering, and have a deep understanding of the latest industry regulations. With your knowledge of electrical testing and your practical ability to conduct inspections and organise maintenance, you're confident in your ability to manage lighting projects from start to finish. Your ability to make site visits within the Borough, work at heights safely, and adhere to health and safety regulations makes you a reliable and adaptable team member. Additionally, you're flexible and able to participate in out-of-hours calls when needed.
