Procurement Heads are delighted to be partnering with a repeat client, who are continuing to grow at a rapid pace, and are expanding their team!
After winning a new government contract, our client is seeking to appoint a Buyer who will support the workload across facilities management procurement categories. This will cover furnishings, equipment and supplies. Previous exposure to working with public body suppliers would allow for a smooth transition into the role, but is not essential.
As the Buyer, you will be responsible for:
* Conducting data gathering on spend, volume, and service needs in preparation for sourcing activities
* Negotiating and influencing suppliers to achieve the best market value
* Supporting in the development and execution of sourcing strategies that align with business objectives
* Managing and supporting a wide range of internal stakeholders, working cross-functionally
* Ensuring suppliers meet the organisation’s standards for quality, reliability, and delivery
* Monitoring supplier performance and working with them to resolve any issues that may arise
* Managing supplier onboarding activities, ensuring all suppliers are properly vetted and integrated into the organisation’s systems
Suitable candidate criteria:
* Demonstrate an understanding of purchasing/supply chain, ideally with a minimum of 2 years' experience
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Experience of negotiating contracts, onboarding suppliers and raising purchase orders would be advantageous
* Demonstrate values of integrity, trust and going the extra mile
* Experience of purchasing within the public sector or a heavily regulated environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
Additional information:
* Annual salary of £30,000 - £32,000
