Prime Appointments are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a leading engineering company based in Uckfield. The role focuses on reactive and planned mechanical works on Southern Water waste and clean water sites, with an emphasis on maintaining, repairing, and overhauling key equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects and develop your expertise in water treatment systems As a Mechanical Technician you will: Investigate and resolve mechanical breakdowns on-site. Overhaul and service equipment such as screens, pumps, motors, and gearboxes. Remove defective components for transport to our main workshop for detailed repairs. Reinstall and commission overhauled equipment on-site. Perform thorough inspections and diagnostics to ensure reliability and optimal performance. Work alongside engineers and technicians to ensure efficient and high-quality project delivery. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, site protocols, and company standards.Skills & Qualifications: Recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in water treatment or similar industries. Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities. Proficiency in working with pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
