Financial Reporting Accountant based in Burnley (Kintore or Zeewolde could also be considered)
Reporting directly to the EMEAA – Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will work directly with Commercial, Procurement, Group Accounting, Group Finance, Tax & Treasury, Operations to ensure month end is reported in an accurate and timely manner in line with UK GAAP, that the weekly cashflow needs are communicated and met, and that overall compliance and control within the accounting function is adhered to.
Month End Accounting and Finance
1. Owner of the overall EMEAA close process and month end checklist, developing pulses to ensure timelines are adhered to and an accurate close is achieved.
2. First point of contact for review of all journals across EMEAA where not preparing.
3. Perform balance sheet analytical review by entity explaining key variances month to month.
4. Prepare/Review monthly account reconciliations.
5. Consolidate the EMEAA P&L and prepare commentary for all aspects of P&L vs. Budget and Forecast and last month.
6. Develop a more detailed reporting pack & timetable to include Labor reporting, Work order reporting, and Overhead reporting detail with support of Financial Controller.
Weekly Cashflow Management
1. Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of the 13-week EMEAA cashflow forecasts with complete explanations of week over week.
2. Develop with commercial teams the process to forecast trade receivables cashflow to include the unbilled forecast element.
3. Weekly review of Vendor runs prioritization with AP & supply chain.
4. 1st point of contact for approver of payments for EMEAA until Treasury Administrator comes in.
Indirect Labor/Overheads Monitoring, Control and Reporting
1. Responsible for the reporting of Actuals overheads cost center by cost center and explaining variances in detail vs. budget and prior year to cost center owners.
2. Develop rhythms with cost center managers to go through their spend, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
3. Forecasting & budgeting overheads for each cost center in EMEA through working with cost center owners.
Statutory/Compliance Work
1. Responsible for coordinating the EMEA elements of the group audit and local statutory audit compliance work with support from the EMEA finance team.
2. Supporting in overseas tax payroll compliance work/monitoring with personnel logistics and payroll tax departments.
3. Supporting in overseas tax VAT compliance work/monitoring with external tax advisors.
4. Supporting in overseas tax corporate compliance work/monitoring with external tax advisors.
Ad Hoc Projects
1. Support on ad hoc projects as required.
Education Required:
Degree in Finance, Economics or related field. Preferably ACA/ACCA qualified with 1-2 years PQE.
Work Experience Required:
1. Previous experience with auditing and statutory accounting.
2. Exposure to management reporting including cashflow forecasting (desired).
3. Previous financial control and management reporting experience.
4. Preferred exposure to UK GAAP.
5. Standard Costing Knowledge.
6. SAP, MS Office, Self Service Analytical Tools.
