Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Student Services Coordinator to join our Student Services department at The Bedford College Group .
As a Student Services Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Overall Responsibilities - Ensure effective delivery of careers information and guidance, design and deliver a cross-college careers program, support learners with financial aid applications, and provide personal support for pastoral, health/welfare, and financial matters.
2. Main Duties - Offer personal support and referrals, deliver careers information and guidance, develop and deliver careers education programs, measure impact of careers provision, provide impartial advice, facilitate course progression, deliver group sessions, conduct research on opportunities, support UCAS applications, communicate with tutors and staff, contribute to staff development, collect data, represent the College at events, update HE guides, and support strategies for higher education progression.
3. Statutory Duties - Promote and safeguard welfare, ensure equality and diversity, follow health and safety requirements, and participate in training and development.
4. Additional Duties - Undertake any other duties as determined by the Student Services Manager.

5. Qualifications - Good standard of education including GCSE Maths and English (grades A-C) or equivalent, Level 3 qualification, high computer literacy, Level 6 Qualification in Careers Guidance or willingness to work towards.
6. Experience - Working with adults and young people, awareness of student needs, working with diverse backgrounds, effective team member, high performance in previous roles, promoting equality and diversity, organizing events, providing information and guidance, customer-focused environment, project work, using Microsoft Office applications.
7. Skills - Excellent interpersonal skills, ICT skills, flexible work approach, organization and planning, effective collaboration with academic and support staff, verbal and written presentation, prioritizing workload, working on own initiative, understanding diverse cultural groups.
8. Attributes - Supporting high-quality learning experiences, creating welcoming environments, positive team contribution, promoting College reputation, effective communication, flexible work patterns, ability to work at various sites.
9. Safeguarding - Promoting and safeguarding welfare, maintaining appropriate relationships and boundaries.
