SPS provides transport for the construction workforce at Hinkley Point C. We carry over 12,000 clients to and from the site every day, working 24/7 to ensure that construction remains on schedule.
We are expanding our Driver Training team and are looking for someone who has a strong bias towards coaching with the ability to tailor training to suit individuals.
As a Driver Trainer, you will be fully responsible for carrying out all aspects of driver training both theory and practical, including route knowledge, company procedures, vehicle familiarisation, and all aspects of professional service delivery. You will also remain up to date with road traffic legislation and company procedures and policy.
Duties include:
* Coaching and supporting colleagues on driving best practices.
* Ensuring delivery service standards are met by carrying out driver quality audits and in-service checks.
* Carrying out driving assessments for new candidates and identifying learning needs.
* Training on vehicle familiarisation and instruction on the correct use of service performance and control systems.
* Delivering classroom modules in areas of driving standards and continued professional development.
* Assisting with the creation of new training documents.
* Ensuring new drivers reach the required standard as set out by the DVSA to acquire their PCV licence.
* Completing all aspects of a driver’s induction.
* Delivering behavioural safety training to all colleagues across the business.
Skills/Experience:
* Delivery of CPC training
* Knowledge of driver’s hours and working time directive
* Advanced Driving Level 2
* First Aid trained
* A qualification in Education and Training Level 3 (or must be prepared to obtain if not held)
* Experience of working in a high-pressured environment
* Proven ability to work in a team
* Understanding of driver regulations and compliance
* PCV licence & Certificate of Professional Competence (3+ years)
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
* Valid UK driving licence
