Our project has been operating discretely since 2017, since then we have been working towards our goal of changing the world of logistics and mobility via future technology Aerospace vehicle solutions. We are currently searching for a Senior Aircraft Loads Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will spearhead deriving and analysing loads the loads for our aircraft for aerodynamics, manoeuvre and ground loads. This role will be critical for our vehicle development program in what is a highly innovative and intricate project. You will have the rare opportunity to engage in the full life cycle of vehicle development—from conceptualisation and prototyping right through to certification—you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of aerospace technology. Our project is incredibly unique and cutting-edge, and we need the best of the best to make it happen. If you are motivated by impact and making a difference, whilst working with some of the best minds in industry, this may be the role for you. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of aircraft loads (deriving aircraft flight manoeuvre, gust/turbulence, ground and VTOL loads from first principles, compilation of load cases as per certification requirements, building tools using Python/Matlab, validation of the tools) Focal point for all aircraftloads related queries. Being able to apply theory to modify conventional aircraft loads to non-conventional configurations and validate the output. Practical demonstrable experience using python. Knowledge of CS requirements. Strong competence with hand calculations and free body diagrams. Familiar with the whole life cycle of loads starting from the derivation of aircraft loads to generating load outputs that can be applied to FE models for structural sizing. Understanding and experience of performing Aeroelasticity analysis (flutter, divergence etc.). Working closely with different teams including Flight Physics, Systems, Flight Test, Structures to ensure structure is optimised for loads, weight, stiffness and regulatory requirements. Perform hand calculations using classical methods as well as FEA to assess primary and secondary structures (metallic and composites). Qualifications: Masters degree in relevant area (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field) with minimum 5 years experience in relevant field. Alternatively, relevant PHD with at least couple of years of relevant industry experience. Programming, automation, scripting (Python, Matlab or similar). FEA software experience (Any: Altair Optistruct / Radioss, Nastran, Abaqus, Ansys). Strong knowledge of Aerospace regulations, standards and methodologies for loads derivations and structural analysis. Tools development and validation. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills (technical report writing, giving presentations in design reviews, engaging with suppliers and other stakeholders). Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team. What will set you apart: Fatigue and Damage Tolerance experience (generating fatigue spectrums and performing detailed fatigue analyses). Experience with Gitlab. Machine learning / Artificial Intelligence. At SkyBridge, we want all of our employees to feel comfortable bringing their passion, creativity and individuality to work. We value all cultures, backgrounds and experiences, as we truly believe that diversity drives innovation.
