Job overview
This is a 12 month Fixed Term/Secondment position.
The Luminal Department at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton are seeking to recruit an ambitious and highly organised Support Medical Secretary to provide an efficient service to the Clinical Team within the Gastroenterology Department at the Royal Derby Hospital.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will require a high level of tact, diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively.
Main duties of the job
You will have a broad range of administrative skills in particular:
* Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* An understanding of the 18-week RTT process
* Knowledge of the Trust Patient Access Policy
* Knowledge and familiarisation of medical terminology
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet and email systems
* Accurate typing skills
* Audio typing
