The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Paraplanner to join our team at Eldon based in Newton Aycliffe (DL5). Reporting to board level you will be responsible for technical research, cash flow modelling, report writing, producing recommendations and supporting with the building and implementation of the financial planning solutions required to meet a variety of clients’ needs and personal goals.
As a Paraplanner you will be involved in client meetings from the outset and will also have an opportunity to progress into advising, if you wish, when your skills and experience allow.
You are likely to have 3 or more years’ experience in a similar role including technical administration and be qualified to at least DipPFS with a drive to become Chartered. Experience of process review/implementation is important as is working as a bridge between the administration and advisory teams.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare for client review meetings and work to understand the client’s financial situation, using cash flow modelling to prepare and write financial plans and post-meeting reports.
2. Develop relationships with clients, attending client meetings alongside the Financial Planners.
3. Undertake technical research and financial analysis to support the Financial Planners/Advisers in identifying suitable solutions for the client.
4. Analyse portfolios, benchmarking, rebalancing and ongoing portfolio maintenance.
5. Work with the administrative support team to ensure recommendations are implemented and the highest level of client service is delivered.
6. Maintain up to date knowledge of developments in the financial planning industry and contribute to development of best practice within the team.
7. Adhere to quality standards and deliver the highest level of client experience.
8. Follow compliance processes to manage risk whilst ensuring excellent outcomes for clients.
9. Process improvements – review, enhance and streamline operational paraplanning processes, systems and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
10. Mentoring/training/support of junior paraplanners and administration staff.
11. As for all staff, to contribute to the strategic development and direction of the business.
Skills and Experience
1. In depth experience of the financial planning process and an understanding of the associated compliance and risk requirements.
2. Driven and goal focused with the ability to complete tasks under pressure on time and right first time.
3. Great attention to detail and not afraid to suggest alternatives to enhance process efficiency.
4. Graduate level or equivalent with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
5. DipPFS or equivalent and desire to progress to Chartered status and or specialise.
Salary and Benefits
1. A salary of up to £40,000 (dependant on skills and experience)
2. 35 hours per week with a 1pm finish on a Friday
