Responsibilities
as our 2nd Line Desktop Support :
1. Provide support to students and staff using the IT network and AV systems
2. Provide skilled operational support to staff and students via the Colleges Help Desk, remote workstation fault diagnostics and network administration services.
3. Install, maintain, service, clean and repair IT, Audio Visual and presentation systems as directed.
4. Deliver, issue and receive IT systems and materials to and from staff and students as necessary.
5. Ensure that all College IT Desktop systems are well maintained and operated in accordance with sound educational practices, current health and safety regulations and report any cases of abuse of IT and presentation systems and take appropriate remedial action.
6. To ensure that workstations and systems meet the requirements of our obligations with regard to safeguarding and online safety and that students and staff are protected from harmful content.
7. To support existing desktop systems including:
- Microsoft Active Directory computer, user and group administration
- User and computer group policy
8. Support members of the IT team to provide proactive and positive communication with the Services customers
As our 2nd Line Desktop Support, youll ideally have:
9. 4 GCSEs, including maths and English or equivalent qualification or Level 3 National Qualification in IT or a Computing related subject
10. Demonstrable passion for IT and IT Systems.
11. Good interpersonal and written skills.
12. Willingness to upgrade qualifications, technical knowledge and skills.
13. Be available for evening and weekend work
