This successful candidate will become a B1/EO Team Leader in the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) team based in Manchester.
The work of the PPI Team is focused on the timely distribution of funds received from the recovery of PPI related assets held on bankruptcy cases. This is a significant piece of work for the Insolvency Service which directly supports our objective of maximising returns to creditors.
The overall purpose of this role is to provide leadership to an administration team who distribute funds to bankruptcy creditors. You will play an active role in the delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the wider Insolvency Service leadership space.
The team sit within the Insolvency Service’s Business Services Division. The wider team deal with a variety of work, including the payment of redundancy money, processing financial payments, responsibility for the making of bankruptcy and debt relief orders and the customer service telephone line.
This is an exciting role in our Business Services Directorate. As a Team leader you will manage a team dealing with distributing funds to creditors in insolvency cases.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Line management of a team of administration case officers.
* Managing throughput of cases within the team to achieve targets and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Undertaking audit activities to provide assurance that casework is being progressed in a timely manner and to standard. Ensuring lessons are learned when errors are identified.
* Perform regular performance conversations with team members and deal with attendance and performance management where required.
* Following guidance and protocols prepare and approve cases for payment and distributing funds to creditors.
* Providing general support to the wider team and other business areas when this is needed.
* Delivering continuous improvement to ensure the service delivered is efficient, presents value for public money and meets customer needs.
* This is an operational post, and you may be asked to cover duties in other business areas or move between teams.
