We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated cyber support technician to join our team at Royal London. As a Cyber Support Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our digital systems and networks. You will play a critical role in protecting our sensitive data, identifying, and resolving potential cyber threats, and delivering effective support to our internal stakeholders.
A Cyber Support Technician will use the security tooling to ensure customer issues are dealt with, and that security operation is functioning as expected. Ability to offer sound basic advice and guidance, run the security incident process and assist with change.
The successful candidate shall be able to work with minimal guidance in the security related field and be responsible for ongoing operation of security technologies. In addition to managing the day-to-day operation of systems and security applications, they would take ownership of analysing security outputs and reports to drive investigations and improvements.
About the role
1. Monitor and analyse network traffic for signs of potential cyber threats.
2. Investigate and respond to security incidents, implementing necessary mitigation measures.
3. Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses in our systems.
4. Develop and implement security controls and procedures to prevent unauthorized access.
5. Collaborate with various teams to ensure the proper implementation of security solutions.
6. Provide support to end users on security-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems.
7. Stay up to date with the latest cyber threats and security advancements, recommending improvements to our security posture.
About you
8. Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
9. Working knowledge of security assessment tools and techniques.
10. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
11. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
12. Relevant certifications such as CISSP or CISM are a plus.
13. Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives.
14. Analyses, designs, plans, executes, and evaluates work to time, cost and quality targets. Analyses requirements and advises on scope and options for continuous operational improvement. Takes all requirements into account when making proposals.
15. Engages or works with security specialists, as necessary. Contributes to the security culture of the organisation.
