Registration
Essential criteria
* Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice (GMC licence to practice is mandatory before employment commences)
* Specialist Registration in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or eligibility to enter it within 6 months from the time of the interview
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* MBBS or equivalent qualification
* MRCOG or equivalent
Desirable criteria
* MD or equivalent Higher Degree or evidence of relevant research
Clinical Experience
Essential criteria
* Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
* Able to take full and independent responsibility for clinical work and delivering a service without direct supervision. Including chairing the gynae-oncology MDT in person
* RCOG ATSM Gynaecological Oncology
* Experience in colposcopy
Desirable criteria
* Colposcopy BSCCP accreditation
* ATSM in Vulval disorders
Clinical Effectiveness
Essential criteria
* Able to demonstrate a broad understanding of the principles and elements of clinical governance.
* An interest which improves the Obstetrics and Gynaecology pathway in all aspects
* Experience of guideline appraisal
* Participation in relevant local audits
* Ability to interpret and apply clinical research
Desirable criteria
* Participation in relevant national audits
Teaching
Essential criteria
* Knowledge and ability to teach all grades of trainees and medical students.
* Understands learner centred teaching
* Evidence of involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
Desirable criteria
* Attended Teaching the Teachers or similar course
Personal Skills
Essential criteria
* Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual and multi-disciplinary basis with all levels of staff
* Able to organise and prioritise workload
