Wellbeing Support Assistant (Counselling)
Grade E £26,712 - 28,047 per annum (pro rata)
30 hours week, Fixed-term until 30/04/2026
About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Wellbeing Support Assistant to work withinour Student Counselling Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and enthusiastic team in a customer facing role. You will provide administrative support for the provision and monitoring ofspecialist services for students, with a particular focus on our Counselling provision.
You will act as a first point of contact for students, colleagues and external clients and implement and maintain effective systems and processes. You will also provideadvice and guidance to students,referring them or signposting them to access appropriate support. You will provide administrative support for Counselling activities, including managing the administration of counselling referrals, maintaining records, participating and arranging meetings, organising schedules, and reviewing and developing systems where necessary.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to respond sensitively to a diverse range of customers, and be confident in giving and receiving constructive feedback.
It isessential that you have a good understanding of issues affecting students and potential barriers to accessing and succeeding in higher education. You must have experience of working in a busy administrative environment and work well as a member of a team. You will have keen attention to detail and keep accurate and timely data and have excellent administrative skills. You will be confident in managing competing demands and prioritising your workload. Excellent IT skills are essential, including MS Office. You will have knowledge of data tracking/recording systems and be skilled in working with and analysing and reporting on data sets. You will have demonstrable experience of working on your own initiative.
