You’ll be working with the Garment technology team to deliver a range of Seasalt products ensuring design integrity, quality, fit, performance, safety and consistency in line with departmental strategy to achieve agreed sales and profit target. As a key member of the Technical team, you’ll work with Buying, Design, Marketing, Retail, Wholesale and QC to ensure successful product, adhering strictly to the Buying Calendar and Critical Path. Ensuring company business systems are understood and utilised to their maximum; specifically PLM for tech packs, Fabric and Garment Testing using Interlink, Pyramid and Power BI for returns data. This role is offered as a full time, permanent contract and is based in Cornwall. In our blended approach to hybrid working, we expect our people to work a minimum of 40% of their week from a Seasalt Office in Cornwall, the remaining 60% of the time will be from home (or your chosen location – however, you must be based in the UK). You'll Help Us By Assisting the Technical team to develop products from Design, through sample development to production, ex factory and in-house QC checks- to ensure agreed timelines are achieved and maximum stock is available. Measuring samples for fitting, as instructed by Technical team (Prototype, Salesman, Pre-production and Gold Seal samples). Managing all samples that arrive into the department, updating PLM where required, ensure rotation of samples, tagging and archiving of samples. Organising and booking fit sessions and fit model, ensure all samples are prepared for the Technical team. Attending fitting session and take detailed notes, developing own skills to be able to manage own fitting sessions in line with personal development plan. Assisting the Technical team by reviewing, approving and communicating comments on test reports to the suppliers. Escalate failures to senior team. Build understanding of testing commercial approvals and issue resolution. Regularly reviewing Care Label requirements and contribute to the care label team/ external care label provider data base. Supporting reviewing of product returns, sharing findings with senior tech for forward resolution of any quality or fit issue. Ensuring all samples and specs required for Quality Control are processed on time and QA has complete information in order to process the sample. Being aware of AQL failures ensuring QA/ QC team has any info regarding commercial approvals or standards for 100% inspections. Supporting any issues raised in AQL checks with the senior technologist and support delivery of any 100% checks. The Skills You'll Be Sharing With The Team Garment construction experience. Reading and following garment specifications for sample measurement and assessment. Identification of common faults and flaws. Knowledge of AQL procedures and best practice. Basic understanding of fabric types. Desirable - MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, Illustrator Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Good organisation and time management skills. Attention to detail. Team worker/people person. Flexible/adaptable/works under pressure, self-motivated. Uses initiative. Passion for learning and new knowledge. Confidentiality on company business.
