Background:
• We are a retired professional couple, both with various health issues and disabilities.
• I have fractured my spine in 3 places and struggling with bending and lifting.
• I am also recovering from a recent long illness from which I feel very drained and subsequently struggling with every day activities.
• Following this illness I have damaged vocal cords, which has left me with problems talking, so I would prefer to do most of the interview process by email
• I do not use a mobile so you may need access to an appliance that opens attachments.
Desirable and essential skills, competencies and qualities for the post:
• NB. Assessment of these, both on application, in all correspondence and at the interview, will be the main factor in determining your success.

Essential:
• You will need a full driving licence and your own vehicle as we are very rural and not on a bus route or near public transport.
• Good timekeeping (if you are late for any reason then you will be expected to make up this time at the end of the shift)

• Proactive, someone who can anticipate the areas we struggle with and deal with these issues accordingly

Summary Terms and Conditions:
• This is a self employed position only and you will be expected to register for self employment if you haven’t already done so.
• The rate for this position is £19 per hour. The enhanced rate of pay is to cover a very high standard of work
• Paid 4 weekly following an invoice to me by BACS. Invoice dates will be provided.
• 10 hours per week
• Mondays and Fridays
• You are not expected to work bank holidays, in which case an alternative day will be offered to work during the week. Please note these may not always be a specific day or the same time and will be based on our availability
• It may be possible that we cannot make a day you are meant to work, due to health related issues or appointments, in which case an alternative day will be offered to you to work during the week. Please note these may not always be a specific day or the same time and will be based on our availability
• Times are 10 am – 3.30 pm (to include lunch break. If you prefer to work through your lunch break to leave at 3 pm then that would be acceptable).
• Position subject to a probationary period of 3 months
Job Description:
Duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:
• The nature of the job would consist of supporting us with housekeeping and things we are struggling with, to enable us to live a more independent life.
• To undertake domestic tasks which require heavier lifting including moving furniture to clean, use of a step ladder and occasionally bringing in heavy shopping from the car.
• Changing sheets weekly, dusting, sweeping, polishing, cleaning windows, mopping and vacuuming designated areas to a very high standard.
• Ensuring surface areas, floors, hand rails, door knobs, and other touch points are sanitised weekly.
• Carrying things up and down the stairs when required.
• Emptying and disposing of bin waste and recycling into wheelie bins.
• Taking wheelie bins to designated emptying spot down the drive and returned back to the house when emptied.
• Performing additional cleaning duties as and when required.
