Job Title: Teacher of Physical Education (PE)
Responsible to: Head of Physical Education
Start Date: September 2025
St Joseph's Catholic School is currently seeking to appoint a driven, energetic and committed Teacher of Physical Education (PE) with a passion for teaching. We are looking for an individual to inspire our pupils to develop a life-long appreciation for physical education and wellbeing.
Our PE Department
Our PE department focuses on promoting health, fitness, and well-being among our pupils through a comprehensive curriculum that highlights physical activity and teamwork. Our team are committed to fostering a lifelong appreciation for fitness, encouraging athletic skill development and instilling values like sportsmanship and perseverance.
The PE department offers a range of extracurricular activities, competitive sports, and wellness initiatives aimed at empowering pupils to make informed health choices. Our PE department plays a vital role in developing active and health-conscious individuals.
It is a really exciting time in the journey of our PE department as we look forward to the future plans for a new sports hall and the shaping of a new curriculum across the subject.
Key responsibilities include
* Developing and implementing a PE curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners.
* Coordinating and leading extracurricular sports and fitness programs.
* Assessing pupils' progress and providing constructive feedback to support their physical and personal growth.
* Teaching fundamental movement skills, techniques, and rules of various sports, fostering both individual and team abilities.
* Promoting health education and encouraging pupils to make informed choices about their physical health.
* Engaging with the school community to highlight the importance of physical fitness and wellness initiatives.
