Job Purpose
The post holder will be expected to deliver services for women with mental health problems across NHS Lothian. This will encompass clinical practice development, and liaison with statutory and non-statutory agencies and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
To provide psychological interventions for parents with (i) pregnancy and birth complications or loss, (ii) previous pregnancy complications, loss or birth trauma affecting mental health in the current pregnancy, (iii) infants whose health is significantly compromised and who require NICU or SCBU care, and (iv) mental disorders amenable to psychological therapies which directly affect maternity care e.g., needle phobia, tokophobia.
To provide expert advice and training for maternity and neonatal staff to colleagues who care for parents with difficulties in adjustment to pregnancy and infant care.
Working alongside the Perinatal Mental Health Team, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of integrated care plans and liaising with all parties involved in the plans and lead on the development of local care pathways and quality improvement strategies.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e., child and/or adult), then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
