Make your mark for patients
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist/Senior Scientist to join our in vivo pharmacology group, based in our Slough office in Berkshire, UK.
About The Role
The successful candidate will focus on generating key data to identify and characterize therapeutic molecules and develop in vivo strategies for research projects within UCB’s immunology drug discovery portfolio. This is a lab-based position requiring a current UK Home Office licence.
What you’ll do
1. Establish, validate, and run in vivo immune mechanistic/disease models.
2. Generate robust in vivo data to support the development of therapeutic molecules.
3. Conduct ex vivo assays to support in vivo studies and progress research projects.
4. Ensure high standards in experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
5. Interpret and communicate data within the in vivo pharmacology team and at project meetings.
6. Maintain accurate records according to company procedures.
7. Collaborate effectively within the in vivo pharmacology team and across departments.
8. Stay updated on immunology and pharmacology knowledge and apply it to current work.
9. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and the Animal Scientific Procedures Act (1986).
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
2. Current UK Home Office personal licence.
3. Strong background in immunology with expertise in in vivo mechanistic immunology and/or disease models.
4. Experience with techniques such as flow cytometry, imaging methods, multiplexed assay readouts, and ex vivo cell culture is advantageous.
5. Proven track record in research, with the ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data effectively.
