What will you be doing?
1. Shift work, Monday to Friday, - for two weeks, followed by - for two weeks
2. Setting and operating of CNC Machining centres and Cutting Tools to prove out first off and production
3. Regular maintenance of CNC machines
4. Ensuring production of quality parts and tools specific to engineering drawings and client standards
5. Safely load and unload raw materials into the CNC machines
6. Escalate any issues with NC tool paths to the responsible CAM programmer/Line manager
7. Running artefacts in response to tool breakages. Interpret, & understand kinematics
8. Supporting production engineers and machinists, by setting up new tools and creating datum reference points to ensure smooth running of the machine
Experienced required:
9. Apprentice trained in mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience)
10. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
11. In-depth knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines (ideally producing metal components)
12. Understanding CNC milling strategies and an understanding of speed, tool paths, and other factors
13. Practical knowledge of measuring tools, equipment, and concepts
14. Solid understanding of machining parameters, able to confidently diagnose and rectify production issues alongside CAM Programmers
15. Experience in setting & operating CNC machines, including installing workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools
16. Ability to select and install appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for the machining process
