About the Role:
The City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking an experienced Conservation Officer to join their Environmental Services team. This exciting opportunity involves working on a wide range of projects, from habitat creation and management to engaging with local communities and promoting the site.
About You:
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in environmental conservation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the day-to-day operational management of Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve.
* Develop and operate adopted management plans and site-specific guidance.
* Deliver biodiversity creation and enhancement projects.
* Engage with government agencies, local authorities, and community groups to deliver the objectives of the management plan.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths.
* HNC in Environmental Studies or Countryside Management or similar.
* Current full driving licence.
* Experience of habitat creation techniques, ecological surveys, and working with volunteers.
