Specific structured and unstructured training will be given as part of the role to develop skills in building services engineering and sustainability. Start Date September 2025 Location Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire Your mission Key Roles & Responsibilities You will report to the senior MEPH team and will be expected to work alongside all other design disciplines within BAM Design to ensure a coordinated approach to building design as well as the wider BAM business units. Support the Senior Management team and mechanical team leaders in all aspects of the MEP development and resource planning Advocate knowledge sharing to all members of the project teams Engage with project delivery teams and encouraging collaboration from early design stage to final handover. Ensure all projects are designed and managed in line with our duties under the CDM regulations Role We expect the Graduate Mechanical Engineer to have the basic general experience in mechanical engineering. In addition the role will involve gaining further experience in: Working on a number of large multidiscipline projects across all market sectors with a particular focus on Education and Commercial Knowledge of Building Regulations and CIBSE/BSRIA Design standards Knowledge of main British Standards Working Knowledge in the use of thermal modelling/design software such as IES, Hevacomp, TAS etc. Using and developing Building Information Modelling (BIM) to ensure systems are coordinated in a complex construction or refurbishment project Attending a range of project meetings Ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirement Working knowledge of RIBA/BRSIA work stages and the deliverables associated to the building services industry Who are we looking for? Good time management skills in order to commit to work deadlines. Possess excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to explore, learn and use new technologies and software. Completed Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline in the last 2 years or due to complete in 2025 Strong communication and teamwork skills.
