Advanced Health Care Assistant - Children's Community Nursing

An opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Healthcare Assistant (AHCA) to join the Children's Community Nursing team in Grimsby. This position will involve participating in planned paediatric community blood clinics each week and providing high quality nursing support to children and their families in their own homes.
We are a hard working friendly and approachable team of paediatric nurses, AHCAs and admin staff working in the community providing nursing care for children at home. We are committed to providing care in children's homes and have vast knowledge and skills to do this. We will offer support and training required for this role. Driving licence essential.
Main duties of the job
The paediatric AHCA is a member of a community nursing team who undertakes duties in relation to patient care and nursing team administration, in the community setting. Duties will be assigned by and carried out under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, according to the individual patient care plan. Duties include discussion and reporting of any changes in the patient's condition to the registered nurse on a daily basis. You will need to undertake paediatric venepuncture on a regular basis working alongside the Hospital Play Specialists. Training and support will be provided. Where additional skills training is identified as required by the job description, the post holder will not undertake these duties until training has been undertaken (except as part of the supervised learning experience). Duties within this job description will be delegated by a Registered Nurse.

Person Specification
Education and qualifications
* Already holds a Level 3 or equivalent, holds the NNEB qualification and is willing to work towards the NQF in paediatrics.
* Evidence of recent study.
* Full UK driving licence.
Occupational experience
* Experience of working within a team.
* Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a child health care setting/nursery, or as a nursery nurse.
* Experience of wound management.
