Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the Senior Youth Worker - NOLB is to assist the Support Worker (Activity Agreements) to engage with young people referred from partners through the EASYP pathway to access post school leaver activity, facilitating a community development approach to working with young people aged 16-18 years in structured activity supporting them towards employability.
Responsibilities include:
* Engaging young people to self-determine and progress their own learning goals and achievements appropriate to each young person's needs and abilities.
* Contributing to the planning, organizing, and evaluating of youth work approaches and activities progressing the learning and development of young people.

The Person
* You must have significant experience of working and communicating with young people.
* You must have experience of developing learning and education programmes with young people.
* You must have good organizational skills.
* You must have the ability to plan a programme around young people's needs.
* You must have group facilitation skills.
* You must have the ability to handle situations confidentially.
* You must have evaluation and report writing skills.
* You will be able to motivate young people and encourage participation, with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
* You will be able to provide a regular and effective service.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
