The Role
We are currently recruiting for a mechanical site supervisor on behalf of a well-established M&E contracting business. This is a contract role based at a large industrial project in Shotton, Wales. The role involves overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
This position is ideal for an experienced supervisor with a strong background in mechanical systems who is looking for a new opportunity on a high-profile project.
Responsibilities
1. Supervising and coordinating mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair work on-site, including HVAC, plumbing, and industrial machinery.
2. Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues using technical knowledge and tools.
3. Conducting inspections and implementing preventive maintenance schedules to maintain system performance.
4. Liaising with engineers, subcontractors, and other site personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
5. Preparing and submitting reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvement recommendations.
6. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
7. Leading and supporting mechanical operatives and subcontractors to deliver high-quality work.
Requirements
1. NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in mechanical engineering or a related field.
2. HNC/HND in mechanical engineering or equivalent is preferred.
3. Relevant certifications, such as City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications.
4. Experience in mechanical maintenance or installation, ideally within an industrial or construction environment.
5. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage site activities effectively.
6. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems in an industrial setting.
7. Valid CSCS card (or equivalent).
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
