Deputy Manager
* Location: Northampton
* Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
We are seeking a Deputy Manager to oversee the effective day-to-day operations of a residential home in the absence of the Home Manager. This role involves managing a team, allocating work, and directly engaging with children when necessary. The Deputy Manager will ensure compliance with company policies and OFSTED regulations, safeguard the welfare of young people, and maintain a safe, responsive environment that meets individual and group needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Act as the point of contact in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring the home operates smoothly and efficiently.
* Oversee the development, monitoring, and implementation of individual care plans and case files.
* Maintain high standards of safety and sensitivity to the needs of the young people.
* Support the manager in ensuring that all aspects of the care plan are met and that transitions into and out of the home are managed sensitively.
* Lead and manage shifts, ensuring that children are safe and engaged.
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with parents, social workers, schools, and other stakeholders involved in the welfare of the young people.
* Ensure that staff adhere to professional standards and company policies, including child protection procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a similar role within residential care settings.
* Strong understanding of OFSTED regulations and compliance requirements.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and in crisis situations.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with various stakeholders.
