We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist alternative provision in Loughborough. This school is committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all pupils. This is a long-term role with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful trial period.
- Supporting teachers in the classroom, providing tailored assistance to children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Communication Difficulties, and Severe Social Anxieties.
- Identifying barriers to learning and working closely with students to help them overcome challenges.
- Demonstrating patience, empathy, and a non-judgemental approach to student support.
- Creating a nurturing and structured learning environment, using effective behaviour management strategies.
- Be adaptable and ready to support students in a variety of learning environments, both indoors and outdoors.
- Have experience working with children with SEMH or Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Be able to build strong, positive relationships with staff and pupils.
- Have a caring, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting students.
- A valid, enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Two professional references.
