Job overview
An opportunity has arisen within the acute Paediatric wards/Children's outpatient department at Prince Charles Hospital for a permanent band 5 Children's nurse post. We are looking for Registered Children's Nurses who are well motivated with good communication skills and a willingness to put the ongoing care of children and their families first.
You would be joining a team of dedicated children's nurses who will provide you with all the support you will need.
Main duties of the job
* To take responsibility for the ward, for a span of duty, on a shift by shift basis in the absence of the ward manager/deputy sister.
* To work as a skilled member of the team and to provide high standards of holistic care to the child and family in a variety of settings.
* Be an effective team leader and role model to junior staff and others.
* Work as a flexible member of the ward team in support of the senior members of the team.
* The post holder is required to be accountable for their own actions and of those directly under their supervision.
* Post holder will follow clearly defined policies and procedures and the NMC code of conduct.
