The Regional Operations Manager has delegated responsibility for the day-to-day management of Newborn Hearing Screening Wales (NBHSW) and Newborn Bloodspot Screening Wales (NBSW) provision within a particular geographical area. At a Regional level, the Regional Operations Manager will support the Newborn Screening Operations Manager (South) in developing and managing partnerships with external Health Boards within the region, reviewing, monitoring and implementing local screening in order to deliver the screening programmes and their objectives. The Regional Operations Manager line manages a proportion of the newborn hearing screening staff and is the managerial point of contact for all regional staff for day to day operational issues. They will provide a visible and accessible senior management presence across west Wales. At an all-Wales level, the Regional Operations Manager deputises for the Newborn Screening Operations Manager (North) as lead for the Newborn Screening Informatics systems, ensuring that programme staff routinely have access to specialist knowledge to support service delivery. In addition, the postholder will take responsibility for leading agreed service improvement projects as directed by the Newborn Screening management team.
