Our client is seeking a Metals Trade Assistant to join their dynamic team in London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the world's centre for industrial metals trading, where in 2021, 145 million lots were traded, equating to $15.6 trillion and 3.3 billion tonnes notional with a market open interest high of 2.1 million lots. What you'll do:
As a Metals Trade Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's trading activities. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing day-to-day functional and technical expertise in assigned areas.
2. Maintaining professional external relationships through customer engagement and member visits.
3. Taking ownership of projects and change requests in assigned areas.
4. Representing Trading Operations at various stakeholder meetings.
5. Providing training and supervision to Trading Operations staff.
6. Participating in the determination of Futures reference prices.
7. Ensuring the Error Trade Policy and Dynamic Price Bands are managed effectively.
8. Determining the Closing Prices for Traded Options.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Metals Trade Assistant role will bring significant functional experience as a subject matter expert either working for a Member/Client, other Exchange or in the trading environment. They will have good knowledge or experience in electronic trading and a thorough understanding of market terminology and rules and regulations. Strong written communication skills are essential for this role, along with quick and accurate numerical skills. The ability to work under pressure is also key.
