Main duties of the job
You will provide support and counselling to children,young people and adults, who have been bereaved through a death by any means,using individual, group and family techniques as appropriate. You will be qualified to a minimum of level 5 Counselling and have experiencein supporting adults and children through difficult situations and ideally haveknowledge and skills in bereavement support or counselling.

Job responsibilities
The post holderwill be responsible for providing specialist and therapeutic counselling tochildren, young people and adults, their families and carers, who have beenbereaved through a death by any means, using individual, group and familytechniques as appropriate.
To providesupport in a variety of locations including the hospice, community and schools.This may also be provided virtually or by telephone depending on client need.
To support thefuture development and growth of the bereavement service.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
13. Minimum level 5 in Counselling or Degree
14. To be registered with an accredited/registered with a counselling body, BACP.
15. Full UK driving license and have access to your own vehicle.
Desirable
16. Qualification in a relevant specialist area of work, mental health, child development, substance misuse etc.
Experience
Essential
17. Experience of delivering emotional support.
18. Experience of working within a multidisciplinary health and social care setting
19. Knowledge and skills in bereavement support or counselling
Desirable
20. Experience of working with bereaved people in a group or family setting
21. Experience, training in specialist relatable subject; child development, mental health or substance misuse.
22. Knowledge of and skills in bereavement support
23. Experience of working confidentially
