Job Outline:
The responsibility of the ESG Manager within EMEA is to ensure both internal and external stakeholders understand our ESG vision and the associated priorities to achieve our regulatory commitments. This requires an ability to work within a dynamic and matrixed environment, with clear communication skills to ensure a level of understanding is gained in order to steer the Company through the necessary regulatory compliance.
This will require a strategic and critical thinker with a keen enthusiasm for information given the requirement to define and coordinate the ESG roadmap to successful conclusion through cross-functional partnerships. A clear appreciation for business acumen, combined with a level of diligence, the ESG Manager will be responsible for all EMEA ESG disclosures to support external ratings and stakeholder engagements. A key lead in the development of ESG information for internal governance and annual reports whilst maintaining awareness and assessing upcoming ESG and CSRD standards and legislation which may impact the Company.
What the role involves:
1. Lead the development and execution of the ESG strategy and programme activation within EMEA, driving accountability for results.
2. Co-ordinate and communicate with internal subject matter experts to lead cross functional activities.
3. Produce regular insights to update leadership team on progress against strategic commitments, ensuring tracking of sustainability goals in line with the ESG strategy.
4. Undertake and manage the initial content development of the EMEA ESG hub to ensure all employees have access to up to date and available resources, tools and data.
5. Support the development of the annual CSR report and other Company publications, regulatory filings, ESG content and communications.
6. Assess potential areas of ESG risk on a periodic basis, producing reports with associated action plans to leadership team.
7. Establish and maintain performance management programme to monitor and report on targets and on level of compliance with ESG regulation.
8. Develop training to provide a focused and coherent ESG programme to appraise employees and support level of understanding.
9. Ensure that the timely and accurate responses to stakeholder inquiries attained.
10. Work with other internal ESG key stakeholders globally to ensure best practise and synergy of application.
11. Make sure that ESG messaging is consistent and accurate, work with MarCom to share news and initiatives to effectively provide a clear medium of communication of our ESG ambitions and achievements.
12. Maintain knowledge on the current ESG requirements, new legislation and best practice guidelines with a clear understanding on how this may impact the Company.
13. Additional project or duties as Management may require at times.
Do you have?
1. Educated to degree level with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in ESG, sustainability or corporate strategy. Clear knowledge of ESG regulations necessary.
2. Initiative-taking, highly organised and multi-tasking achiever with advanced project / analytical skills.
3. Strong service ethic able to work on own or as core support to others.
4. Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics, writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
5. Excellent verbal and written communicator with strong collaboration and people skills to engage, influence and manage a wide range of stakeholders.
