Application Deadline: 3 February 2025
Department: Adults & Community Services
Location: Torbay Council
Compensation: £27,711 - £30,060 / year
Description
The Leonard Stocks Centre is Torbay's homeless hostel based in Torquay. We offer accommodation to 29 males and females, all of whom have experienced street homelessness.
We are recruiting a Support Worker to join our team. This is a fast-paced setting where putting the residents' needs always comes first. Your role will be to support residents in the hostel, empowering them to make changes to their lives and supporting them to move on. This will include working within the Growth in Action Alliance across Torbay, ensuring that residents engage with other services as part of their support.
Shifts are either 0800-2000 or 2000-0800 on a rota basis, and due to the nature of the service, we are staffed 365 days a year.
This post will be carrying out Regulated Activity. As such, the post will require an Enhanced Criminal Record Check plus an additional Barred List Check. The check will reveal any spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions (which have not been filtered), any local Police information, and a check of either the Adult, Child, or Adult and Child Barred Lists.
