The service serves a population of over 400,000 patients and is based at both the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and the Calderdale Royal Hospital, where you will be expected to work across both sites. The department is fully UKAS and MHRA accredited and has HCPC training status. Main duties of the job Qualified Band 5/6 The Hematology department is well equipped with Siemens Hema analysers and coagulation analysers are Sysmex CS 2500. The Blood Transfusion service is delivered via the Biorad IH-1000 automated Blood grouping system and operates a state of the art Blood Track System - Haemonetics. Ensuring quality and safety for the collection, processing, storage and administration of human blood components. This system electronically records every stage of the transfusion process improving patient safety. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who wishes to join and play an active role in our busy and friendly department. Participation in the 24/7 rota will be expected following a period of training.
