Off Road Tech Presenter Are you a sucker for all things bike tech? Would you like the opportunity to work with (and talk about) MTB tech all day, try the latest gadgets, and help plan GMBN Tech’s exciting content? If so, GMBN Tech has just the job for you. As a Presenter, you'll be responsible for researching, scripting and presenting films for broadcast on GMBN Tech. This is a key role and your skills can determine the quality and delivery of the final product. You'll usually work closely with the content manager, and channel producer/director to achieve the desired end result. The GMBN programming schedule will include regular weekly videos and evergreen content, providing timeless value to our audience. The schedule can be subject to regular review and change, based on analytics data and performance. Presenters are required to regularly work on location in the UK and overseas. You may occasionally be required to present on any of Play Sports' Channels, currently GMBN, Electric Mountain Bike Network (EMBN), Global Cycling Network (GCN), GCN TECH (Global Cycling Network Tech), Global Triathlon Network (GTN) or any new channel launches. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, script and present videos based on the programming schedule. Deliver well-thought-out and planned scripts, to deadlines and for approval. Work with the editorial and commercial teams to develop ideas for content for the channel. Carry out research for creative content ideas, then be able to accurately embed this research into your scripts and how the content is presented. Liaise proactively and positively with the Production Manager for the planning and logistics of shoots. On filming days, you will be supplied with a call sheet which will give full instructions for filming. Work collaboratively, and as a team, with the video creator(s) on set and location and follow their direction. Work on location in the UK and overseas, when required. Review content, listen to and take on board feedback for content you have presented or scripted. Represent GMBN Tech at bike events from time to time and in new promotional opportunities. Publish and traffic uploaded videos to the channel, if necessary. Manage social media profiles in collaboration with the other presenters. Answer comments and questions to videos from the GCN Tech community. Ensure you support partner brands only, in any social media content including personal profiles. Provide support to the eCommerce function, when required, to assist with marketing our online products. Training and coaching will be given on YouTube and social media accounts to fulfil the above requirements. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & APPROACH EXPERIENCE Experience in the Pro Mountain Bike tech world to an expert level, a qualified bike mechanic or engineer. Preferred experience Having worked for a pro MTB team or bike manufacturer. Experienced in location and studio filming. Previous presenting experience would be beneficial, but is not essential. This can be taught. Some experience of managing, preferably large, social media profiles. Former pro athlete or previously competed at a high level. ABILITIES Ability to write quickly, accurately and concisely for scripting and research purposes. An advanced level of written and spoken English. Good spelling and grammar. Ability and interest in developing your presentation skills by watching videos back and listening to feedback from colleagues - and from the audience through their comments; being open to implementing constructive feedback. Able to prioritise projects and complete them with efficiency and accuracy, good time management skills. Being organised in your work and mindful of your organisational approach, which can impact on other colleagues. Able to learn quickly and adapt to changes in priorities. Excellent attention to detail to research, understand and be able to explain the intricacies of bike tech. An inquisitive mindset regarding bike tech and creative content. Ability to think creatively and develop new ideas for content that will engage the audience. Team work and collaboration skills; respectful of colleagues. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Experience using G-suite would be useful but not essential. An analytical mind: ability to analyse data and come up with recommendations based on findings. APPROACH A huge passion for bike tech and a knowledge of what the current trends are in the MTB market. An interest in learning and researching new technologies related to bike tech. A calm and patient approach, both with tech and colleagues. Willingness to attend shoots, sometimes at short notice and in various locations, in the UK and abroad. These may be during the week or on weekends. Commercially minded, you will liaise with commercial partners for branded content purposes so you need to be able to get on well with people in the bike industry and have influencing skills to be able to pitch new content-related proposals to them.
