Job responsibilities
* Dealing with telephone queries, checking and updating patient information with clinical staff, managers, and patients.
* Support nursing staff with the discharge processes.

* May be required to handle barriers to understanding, for example, anxious patients, relatives, cultural differences, and language or communication difficulties.
* Resolves problems, such as locating notes, patient appointment issues, accuracy of patient information, ward queries, and escalating when necessary.
* Organises own workload.
* Organises patient transportation, discharges, appointments, and patient admissions.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* High level of literacy and numeracy.
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of administrative & clerical systems and processes.
* Fully conversant with information and other IT systems.
* Experience in Microsoft including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Previous experience of working in an acute hospital environment.
Skills
* Ability to deal with difficult/anxious people using tact and diplomacy.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage own workload and assist in running a smooth service.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Able to work flexibly.
* Good interpersonal skills.
