The Anglian Water @one Alliance is a totally collaborative organisation made up of nine partner companies (Anglian Water, SWECO, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, and Skanska) and an extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. We’ll be embarking on a new kind of project delivery focusing on nature-based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

To ensure our projects are successfully delivered from asset planning to asset operation, we are looking for a Delivery Engineer for our Place Based Thinking (large projects) team, who are looking to add value to our ways of working and have desires to develop and grow within an industry-leading alliance!
What will you be doing as our new Delivery Engineer?
To join us on our journey of project delivery excellence, you’ll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, safely whilst embedding sustainability principles. Furthermore, you’ll drive efficiency and outperformance whilst not compromising governance and delivery processes.
Key responsibilities:
1. Oversee and ensure projects are on track in terms of time and budget whilst proactively managing risks and opportunities.
2. Attend site to gather information and translate into value added reports and presentations which drive the successful meeting of relevant project Delivery Milestones.
3. Champion sustainability principles in design and construction specifically around the minimisation of the energy use, carbon emissions, waste materials reduction and the supply chain.
4. Coordinate and manage the contract requirements relating to design solutions, constructions and commissioning and ensure these are always meeting and exceeding Health & Safety standards and legislation.
5. Provide a proactive and trusted resource to the Project Delivery Manager to support effective and efficient close out of all projects to meet the clients’ requirements and enable final accounts completion.
6. Strive to continuously improve project delivery by closely collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to understand challenges and implement solutions.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours…
To join us as a Delivery Engineer, you’ll have experience of delivering projects or coordinating complex tasks and activities to support planned outcomes. With the ability and desire to travel across the region as required to support projects, it would be advantageous to possess Engineering or Construction industry experience with ambitions to develop a career in the field.
With the ability to establish and sustain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders and working in a collaborative and honest fashion, you’ll be confident in being proactive and taking accountability to drive performance. Capable on IT programmes and open to new technology, you’ll demonstrate resilience and maintain energy and focus when under pressure.
