We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our client in a controlled, chilled factory environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the machinery and systems used on-site, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
2. Maintain company specifications and ensure compliance.
3. Work to minimize or eliminate food safety risks, such as cross-contamination.
4. Store waste in designated places and ensure minimal production loss by quickly resolving breakdowns.
5. Ensure equipment and site operations meet Health & Safety requirements.
6. Update documentation as required for internal and external audits.
7. Maintain and update records relating to spares, stock, and consumables.
Health & Safety / Hygiene:
1. Maintain HACCP system procedures in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
2. Prioritize food safety and animal welfare at all times.
3. Ensure hygiene standards for equipment, staff, and storage areas are maintained.
Risk Management:
1. Identify and record issues relating to the management of risk in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
1. Level 2 Food Safety
2. Level 2 COSHH
3. Level 2 Health & Safety
4. Level 2 Manual Handling
5. HACCP Awareness
6. Fully qualified Electrician with a minimum of 16th Edition electrical qualification
Experience:
1. Minimum 3 years of experience in a meat processing plant.
2. Practical understanding of electrical equipment, circuit boards, PLCs, and electronic equipment.
3. Experience with mechanical systems, including lifting equipment, rail systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, boilers, pressure washers, and forklifts.
4. Plumbing and welding experience (desirable).
