We are looking for a business support officer to work with our Specialist Lymphoedema team based at The Centre for Health, Whitehouse Business Park, Traynor Way, Peterlee, SR8 2R.
Main duties of the job
Successful applicants will be required to provide administrative support to the specialist lymphoedema team and will be a valued member of the team.
Job responsibilities
The successful applicant will be required to function as a business support officer, accepting electronic referrals into the team, ensuring there are sufficient supplies to enable the nurses to provide care to patients. Duties will include answering the phone, learning how to navigate the electronic system the teams use, filing and scanning of documents and managing correspondence to patients.
Person Specification
Special Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
* Able to work as part of a team.
* Able to identify when to report to a registered nurse/therapist.
* Able to work with minimal supervision.
* An appreciation of dealing with people in their own homes.
* Demonstrate the ability (with training if necessary) to undertake basic clinical activities such as venepuncture, simple wound dressings, blood glucose monitoring (this list is not exhaustive) and other clinical duties identified by registered nurse.
* Able to maintain confidentiality.
* Understanding of working with other agencies/multi-disciplinary working.
* Able to use own initiative appropriately.
Experience
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge of Systm One and Cardea.
Qualifications
* An understanding of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, its culture, strategic direction, achievements and NHS standing.
