UK BASED Field Technician - Biogas Systems Summary The Field Technician will install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot biogas upgrading systems and auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal performance. The role involves regular travel, providing on-site and remote support, and contributing to process improvements. Key Responsibilities Equipment Installation & Maintenance : Install, calibrate, service, and troubleshoot biogas equipment, including control systems and low-voltage electrical hardware. System Optimization : Analyze processes, log data, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and output quality. Quality Assurance : Test and debug hardware, software, and automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controls. Client Support : Train staff, supervise subcontractors, and provide 24/7 on-call support as part of a rotating schedule. Compliance & Reporting : Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies, perform risk assessments, and prepare technical reports for internal and external stakeholders. Collaboration : Work with engineers, clients, and other teams to meet project goals and deadlines. Qualifications & Skills Education : Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering (mechanical/electrical bias preferred) or equivalent experience. Technical Expertise : Experience with Siemens PLCs, automation software, and communication protocols (Profinet, Modbus). Proficiency with low-voltage electrical systems, motors, and compressors. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and technical report preparation. Experience : Background in biogas, CHP gas engines, anaerobic digestion, or power generation. Hands-on experience with mechanical systems (pumps, valves, pressure vessels). Other Requirements : Valid driver's license and willingness to travel internationally. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English (French preferred). Certificates such as H2S Awareness, IOSH/NEBOSH, and COMPEX EX1-4 are advantageous.
