Supported Housing Team Leader

An opportunity has arisen for a Supported Housing Team Leader to work a 35-hour week, reporting to the Service Manager. You will play an integral part of the business, working closely with the Service Manager in the day-to-day operation of a busy team. This role requires an Enhanced DBS.
The Role:
1. Provide housing related support and intensive housing management to men, women, and couples.
2. Lone work in the community with service users.
3. Manage a caseload of service users, providing a dual function of housing related support and intensive housing management.
4. Provide and promote practical and emotional support to assist in the development of life skills and enable service users to move on into independent accommodation.
5. Ensure the efficient day-to-day running of all services to promote and encourage good practice.
6. Work within the community at service users' home addresses within the Bradford area.
7. Promote services to voluntary, statutory, and community-based organisations across the district.
8. Line manage staff allocated within the Team.
9. Conduct regular risk assessments with staff, buildings, and offices.
10. Manage staff, authorising leave and time off, ensuring adequate cover is maintained.
11. Supervise and appraise staff.
12. Provide management support to staff when the Service Manager is absent.
13. Initiate/conduct yearly performance appraisals.
14. Monitor sickness levels, complete return to work interviews and sickness paperwork.
15. Contribute to monthly and quarterly performance monitoring reports in conjunction with the Service Manager.
16. Conduct file audits.
17. Attend liaison meetings with partners/landlords.
Responsibilities:
1. Maximise occupancy levels and minimise voids.
2. Work with approved contractors to ensure properties are prepared for re-let.
3. Ensure properties are turned around within 48 hours.
4. Welcome new service users and assist them in settling into their new home.
5. Oversee tenancy agreements, working closely with service users to understand responsibilities and rights.
6. Complete housing benefit forms with each service user and ensure that all necessary paperwork is forwarded to the HB department on the day of admission.
7. Assist service users in making claims to the DWP.
8. Follow up with service users to ensure that housing benefit claims are set up and paid.
9. Carry out any arrears recovery work.
10. Complete and monitor budget plans.
11. Manage service user rent accounts.
12. Ensure properties are maintained to a high standard.
13. Understand enforcement procedures.
14. Handle neighbour disputes sensitively.
15. Manage formal and informal complaints.
16. Conduct regular health and safety inspections.
17. Report repairs and oversee standards of work conducted.
18. Have a clear understanding of safeguarding.
19. Prepare letters, reports, and documents concisely.
About You:
1. Willing to work flexibly and cover holidays and sickness, sometimes at short notice.
2. A confident communicator who can lead and manage a team.
3. Ability to organise and chair meetings.
4. Ability to work at pace, react/respond to emergency situations, and evaluate effectively.
5. Able to work in strict confidence at all times.
6. Good eye for detail.
7. Must be a car driver/owner.
8. Understand and promote good housekeeping, health and safety, and safeguarding policies.
