About the Buyer job
The purpose of your role will be to manage all day-to-day buying activities, develop strong relationships with sustainable suppliers and negotiate the best prices for the business ensuring product quality is achieved and maintained.
Key tasks
1. Analyse market trends to develop and execute strategies for sales growth. Research and onboard new suppliers to find competitive rates, negotiate terms, and set up commercial contracts to optimise pricing and conditions.
2. Manage supplier relationships, ensuring contractual compliance and performance. Support end-to-end procurement processes, including overseeing key food categories (e.g., ambient, frozen) and working on innovations like packaging efficiency for shared cost benefits.
3. Monitor own trading performance through regular sales reports, budget tracking, and setting targets.
4. Support New Product Development (NPD) initiatives to introduce new products and expand categories effectively.
About You
To be successful within this role you are required to have food buying experience in either ambient, fresh/chilled and frozen categories within a food manufacturing setting.

The Buyer job (ref:8795) is based in Essex and is paying up to GBP50,000 DOE according to your experience.
The site is near Colchester Essex and is commutable from Ipswich, Halstead & Braintree.
