Join Our Team as an Fleet Support Technician at Romford ROC. The Role As a Fleet Support Technician within Greater Anglia, you are responsible for all aspects of Fleet Engineering Support, including telephone technical support to the drivers to reduce delays, and providing a good standard of quality defect information to the depots on incidents occurring in service. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Control, Drivers, and Train Maintenance colleagues to take appropriate actions using relevant IT systems, including Decision Support Tools (DST). Facilitate the safe movement of trains, either returning to passenger service or taking out of service, in compliance with the Cut and Run and Defective On Train Equipment (DOTE) requirements. Task Line of Route (LOR) Technicians to assist during and after incidents by gathering information and coordinating with the Fleet Planning team on the timing and delivery of failed units to investigation and repair locations. Ensure relevant departments are informed of incidents and any necessary rectification work. Monitor service quality issues related to the fleet, ensuring faults are reported and resolved promptly. Identify repeat failures and trends, capturing relevant data and ensuring awareness at depots. Demonstrate the ability to follow processes, coordinate activities, and provide advice or support to third parties regarding defects. Communicate professionally with customers and stakeholders during significant fleet incidents. Have understanding of railway operating rules, procedures, and arrangements, particularly in incident management and rail industry performance management processes. Experience in a rolling stock background is a requirement Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is preferable Effective safety awareness, a thorough understanding of safety management, and the ability to recognise potential consequences of incidents are essential.
