Planner / Planning Manager - T&D Scotland Location: Scotland, United Kingdom Duration: Until 31st December Accommodation: Provided About the Project: Our esteemed client is seeking both Planners and Planning Managers to play pivotal roles in a significant transmission infrastructure project in Scotland. This initiative involves upgrading the existing 132kV overhead transmission line between Beauly and Blackhillock to a 400kV line, enhancing the capacity and reliability of the network. Successful candidates will support and lead project planning and scheduling activities using Primavera P6 and other planning tools. Key Responsibilities: For Planners: ·Assist in developing, maintaining, and optimizing detailed project plans and schedules using Primavera P6 to ensure timely delivery. ·Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and contractors to align timelines and objectives. ·Support the implementation of risk management strategies to mitigate potential delays. ·Ensure compliance with UK energy regulations, environmental laws (Section 37), and Ofgem requirements. ·Assist in cost estimation, budgeting, and NEC3/NEC4 contract management. ·Utilize digital tools such as GIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, BIM, and digital twin technology to enhance project planning. For Planning Managers: ·Lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of comprehensive project plans and schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project objectives. ·Provide strategic direction and oversight to project teams, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure coordinated efforts and successful project delivery. ·Develop and implement robust risk management strategies to proactively address potential project delays and issues. ·Ensure strict adherence to UK energy regulations, environmental laws (Section 37), and Ofgem requirements, maintaining the highest standards of compliance. ·Oversee cost estimation, budgeting, and NEC3/NEC4 contract management to ensure financial efficiency and accountability. ·Champion the integration of digital tools such as GIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, BIM, and digital twin technology to enhance project planning and execution. Required Skills & Experience: For Planners: ·Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) methodology. ·Understanding of 132kV and 400kV transmission lines, substations, grid connections, geotechnical, and environmental considerations. ·Experience in infrastructure projects, preferably in overhead lines (OHL), cabling, or energy transmission. ·Knowledge of financial and contract management, including procurement processes. ·Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively across project teams. For Planning Managers: ·Extensive experience and proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) methodology. ·In-depth understanding of 132kV and 400kV transmission lines, substations, grid connections, geotechnical, and environmental considerations. ·Significant experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in overhead lines (OHL), cabling, or energy transmission. ·Advanced knowledge of financial and contract management, including procurement processes and NEC3/NEC4 contracts. ·Proven ability to lead and coordinate multiple stakeholders, with exceptional communication and leadership skills.
